Welcome to Cafe Imperio, a delightful retreat nestled on R. Antonio Manuel Saraiva 31A in the charming town of Pinhão, Portugal. This cafe is not just a pit stop; it's an experience that beautifully blends good food, warm service, and a rich atmosphere directly across from the Pinhão train station.

The moment you step inside, you’re enveloped in a cozy ambiance that invites you to unwind. The decor strikes a perfect balance between rustic charm and modern styling, making it an appealing space to linger over your meal or enjoy a cup of coffee. As noted by cafe-goers, the atmosphere is uplifting, and it serves as the perfect backdrop while waiting for your train or simply savoring the moment.

Cafe Imperio boasts a varied menu that caters to different tastes. While specific dishes weren't mentioned, patrons rave about the burgers and prego rolls, which promise to deliver hearty flavors that would satisfy any appetite. One visitor, Judith Kohler, expressed her delight with lunch offerings, stating that the food was nothing short of "superb." With every bite, you can expect the comfort of a well-made meal that brings happiness in simplicity.

Whether you're in the mood for a delectable lunch or a serene coffee break, customers have highlighted the excellence of service here. One reviewer, Chris A Nichols, noted the bar staff's willingness to assist, even with limited Portuguese, emphasizing their commitment to customer satisfaction. It's this personal touch that makes your visit not just another meal but a memorable interaction.

Don't miss out on the local delicacies that complement your visit! Guests like Shaown Mojumder have praised the exceptional port and white wines served at Cafe Imperio, which can transform an ordinary afternoon into an extraordinary experience post-hike. The bartender’s kindness in allowing patrons to enjoy their own snacks, such as bread from local bakeries, further showcases the cafe’s welcoming and accommodating nature.

However, an area for improvement has been pointed out; the bathroom facilities are clean but could do with a few enhancements for a top-notch visit. Despite this, the sweet atmosphere and supportive staff seem to outshine this minor aspect, making it a solid choice for travelers and locals alike.

To sum it up, Cafe Imperio is not just a location to grab a bite but a gathering point where you can enjoy hearty meals, exquisite wines, and warm hospitality. Pedro, the lovely host, adds to the charm, making every visitor feel right at home. Whether you're sipping wine from a cave-like cellar or indulging in a perfect custard tart, the cafe promises a delightful time spent in the heart of Pinhão. Make sure to stop by on your next visit; you won’t be disappointed!

The atmosphere is nice, the service is 5 stars, but bathroom conditions need to be improved (it’s clean, but lacks few things)

We went for lunch and we were looking for casual dinning. The service was excellent and the food was really good. We had burgers and prego rolls and the food was superb.

I almost never leave reviews, but I came here to meet a friend and organise accommodation. We spoke limited Portuguese, but the bar staff were more than happy to help. Gave us a very nice meal and wine. Could not be more happy - would 100% recommend.

A sweet place across from the Pinhão train station. A very atmospheric cafe to pass some time while you are waiting for your train. Have a peek at the wine cellar that is in a cave. I believe dynamite was used to make it! We enjoyed our custard tarts and Pedro is a lovely host.

The Port and white wine we tried here after our valley hike were absolutely amazing. The bartender was kind enough to let us enjoy the breads we’d brought from another bakery (I did ask first, of course post-hike carb cravings are real!). Add to that a nice atmosphere, and it turned into the perfect little break.

I dont really rate places like this, but the bartender with earrings really helped us making the payment with Revolut App. Cheers for him.

Thiago and Pedro were so welcoming - we visited multiple times! Everything was so wonderful - the omlettes, the waffles, the cheese platter. Thank you for a wonderful place to spend time in Pinhao!
